Idea
The idea for Vimodi was born in the classroom. As a business school professor, Michelle (founder of Vimodi) regularly taught using case discussions. Existing presentation tools like PowerPoint forced discussions into linear paths, which limited the opportunities for students to develop their own insights and ideas. Instead, Michelle often reverted to the chalkboard, leaving a lot of unused technology on the table.
“I needed to display several ideas at the same time for discussion. What was particularly frustrating was the inability to jump from one idea to another while teaching. I either had to flip through multiple slides or just use the chalkboard,” - explained Michelle.
In fact, Michelle’s frustration was shared by business and creative professionals, who also needed a way to discuss content flexibly.
A solution that took advantage of existing technology yet supported flexible discussions was needed. Out of this came Vimodi, a new category of app to support VIsual MObile DIscussions in in-person meetings.
